BYD purchased a Japanese large-size die enterprise

At the end of March 2010, BYD purchased Guanlin Plant of Ogihara Corporation which is a large-size enterprise which manufactures die in Japan. The plant located in Gunma-ken and produces die for Engine Hood mainly. Ogihara Corporation with 60 years has five plants in Japan as well as plants in America, U.K., Thailand, China etc. At present, two sides have signed up the contract. Ogihara transferred land, plant, equipment and staffs to BYD on 1st April. Through successful cooperation between two sides, BYD hope to improve technique of manufacturing die, Ogihara hope to reduce excessive production to reform profit. It is reported that after purchasing, BYD will carry dies used for doors of cars to China.
